Respiratory Protection Safety Advisor

This role is part of a team that administers the hospital wide Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) to ensure that effective controls, including the use of respirators, are in place to mitigate respiratory hazards. The key duty for this role is quantitative Mask Fit Testing.

You will enjoy a collaborative working environment with internal key stakeholders including Infection Prevention and Control; Health and Safety; Procurement and Supply.

Your new role

  • Conduct quantitative fit testing - planning and preparing Fit Test sessions, including set up of equipment & reporting results
  • Support the administration and implementation of the RMH Respiratory Protection Program
  • Contributing to respiratory protection education for staff attending a fit test including respirator fit checking/don/doff practices

About you

  • Wide range of base qualifications would be suitable for this role including nursing, OHS, Occupational Hygiene, and Allied Health.
  • An understanding of respiratory protection principles in acute healthcare
  • A commitment to health and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Qualifications in nursing, OHS, Occupational Hygiene or Allied Health
  • Ability to work in a consultative, approachable manner.
  • Able to wear respiratory protection (P2/N95 respirators) for extended periods of time.
