Occupational Therapist Grade 2

  • Full time parental leave cover – RMH@home sub-acute
  • Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus
  • Provide excellent clinical assessment and therapy for patients in their homes
  • Join our supportive and collaborative Occupational Therapy team

The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist provides quality care to clients through competent clinical skills, effective communication, and active participation within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients with a variety of medical conditions. The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 50 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties. The team is a cohesive group of professionals who support and encourage professional development and career growth. The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is aligned with the broader Allied Health service. The role is supported by OT senior clinicians, Grade 4 clinical leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.


Your new role:

  • Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the RMH@home sub-acute program
  • Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
  • Demonstrate effective communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services and information
  • Actively participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research  

About you:

  • You have hospital or community based experience with a collaborative working style
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for providing evidence based practice
  • You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary teams.
