NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health.

About the Role:

 

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join the redesigned Adult Community Mental Health program at the Inner West Area Mental Health Service (IWAMHS) at Waratah Clinic.

 

The Adult Community Service provides a range of acute, brief and longer term interventions to assist people with psychiatric disorders. Consumers and their family/carers will have access to care in the community to meet their needs and preferences, provided by an integrated Community Team in the relevant catchment area.

 

Underpinned by a recovery-oriented approach, the Community Team will be responsible for providing crisis responses, targeted intervention (brief & longer term), and consultative responses to primary health care providers.

 

Clinicians will work in partnership with consumers, carers, MHCSS and other services to provide best practice for recovery, using a range of evidence-based approaches.
