  • Part Time position working 48 hours per fortnight

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

We are looking for highly motivated, resourceful and dedicated Registered Nurse with a strong renal background to join our Nephrology team as a Post-Transplant Coordinator CNC. This is a part time position, working 24 hours per week, based at RMH, City Campus.


Your Opportunity:

To work as part of the largest transplant team in Victoria comprising of a multidisciplinary team supporting patients in their post-transplant care. The successful applicant will:

  • Play an integral role in coordinating the post-transplant care of kidney transplant recipients
  • Work in close collaboration with the RMH transplant team
  • Be responsible for the organising of investigations, clinical reviews and assessment of transplant patients
  • Provide education to renal transplant recipients, their carers and families
  • Contribute to renal transplant data collection
  • Assist with development of clinical protocols relating to renal transplant management 

About You:

  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Registration as a RN with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia 
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse
  • Renal nursing experience with transplant recipients
  • Advanced assessment, problem solving, critical thinking and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills appropriate to deal with a wide range of complex and sensitive issues
  • Ability to work autonomously in addition to within a team environment
  • Post graduate qualifications preferably in Nephrology is desirable
