We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Clinical Engineering team. This is a Full Time, Fixed Term (6 months) position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Parkville.
Your Opportunity:
As a Clinical Engineer – Student, you will be a member of the team providing comprehensive services for life-cycle management of medical devices at Melbourne Health. Reporting to the Clinical Engineer Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with the Clinical Engineering Team across The Royal Melbourne Hospital and satellite sites of Melbourne Health.
The key accountabilities for this position include:
- Corrective maintenance and planned maintenance of medical devices
- Acceptance testing of new medical devices on loan or purchased by Melbourne Health
- Undertake and/or participate in project management under supervision of senior Clinical Engineering staff
About You:
The successful applicant will have:
- Enrolled and in process of completion of Bachelor of Engineering or Science at an Australian university
- Knowledge of medical devices and their usage within a healthcare environment
- Understanding of Australian and international standards for the management of medical devices within a healthcare organisation.
Desirable attributes includes:
- Prior experience working in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, particularly in context to medical devices in healthcare organisations
