The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Revenue Services team. This is a Full Time position, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your Opportunity

  • Managing Billing and Debtor recoverability to achieve set targets
  • Providing leadership of the unit’s strategic and business planning by providing high level advice, data, reports and papers
  • Provide conceptual and technical advice and assistance to support strategic planning, benchmarking and quality assurance activities
  • Provide business development support for program development and business initiatives
  • Ensuring a flexible and responsive environment by planning and managing change and improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring that patient debtor performance is managed and monitored via agreed KPIs
  • Assist the Senior Manager Revenue Services in growing the private practice profile at Melbourne Health

As a member of Revenue Services, you will work closely with other managers, Senior Manager Revenue Services and the Director Revenue Services to ensure the success of private and compensable revenue strategies through streamlined and efficient billing and recovery practices. You will ensure that Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded and undertake efficient, accurate and timely collection and/or customer service functions.

 

About You:

  • Experience and expertise in the delivery of revenue services within a complex organisation
  • Experience in data manipulation and statistical analysis of large, complex datasets
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve when interpreting data
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Private health insurance and other funder requirements and processes
  • Good computer and database skills and knowledge of Health and office based software packages. (iPM, Symphony, Karisma, Kestral, FMIS, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook email)

Selection Criteria Essential: Experience in customer service or administration within a health service in the operation and management transactional services, particularly in a heavily regulated environment
Essential: Demonstrated experience and expertise in the delivery of revenue services within a complex organisation
Essential: Experience in data manipulation and analysis of large, complex datasets
Essential: Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines
Essential: Ability to analyse and problem solve when interpreting data
Essential: High level interpersonal and communication skills, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups
Essential: Knowledge of Medicare, Private health insurance and other funder requirements and processes
Essential: An ability to deliver a responsive and efficient service that is flexible to the needs of key stakeholders
Essential: Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively in a team environment
Essential: Good computer and data base skills and knowledge of Health and office based software packages. (iPM, Symphony, Karisma, Kestral, FMIS, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook email)
Essential: Ability to assist the team to meet performance indicators and take responsibility for completing individual work tasks
Desirable: Experience in billing and debt follow up
Desirable: 3 or more years health service industry experience with patient billing systems
