We are seeking an experienced Interpreter to take up part time position. This is a significant opportunity to provide a high interpreting service primarily to the clients of service, and their families through your high quality interpreting service, effective communication, clinical skills and active participation in a team environment. The setting will be both inpatient and outpatient settings, in both acute services and subacute services. You will be required to provide face to face, telephone, videophone interpreting and sight translations as required.

Essential Criteria:
- NAATI- Level 3 (Professional) Interpreter / Translator
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- High level of communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure, collaboratively and independantly ,
- Experience in working within a culturally diverse health workforce or equivalent
- Experience and proficiency in educating others about interpreter usage and issues related to cultural awareness;
- Understanding of various Interpreting methods, Translating theory and its application to practice;
- Skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Internet
- Minimum 4 years interpreting in health industry experience
- High level of attention to detail
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a tertiary hospital setting
- NAATI- Level 3 (Professional) in Translating (English to Source & Source to English)
- Proven experience in administration, business and healthcare
