Victorian Infectious Diseases Service
Outpatient Department
Part Time (36 hrs/Fortnight) Fixed Term (8 September 2017)
We are seeking a Division 1, Grade 2 Registered Nurse committed to delivering high quality patient care and health promotion/education to join our Outpatients team, part time.
You will need recent experience in the management of patients with Infectious Diseases for the following weekly clinics:
- Monday – AM Hepatitis, PM HIV (10hrs)
- Wed – General Infectious Diseases (8hrs)
As part of this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality customer service for patients and families
- Providing venepuncture, vaccinations, dressings, medication
- Providing patient education and follow up for medical conditions and treatment regimes
- Displaying patient information and promoting patient understanding of medical conditions and follow up while they are outpatients
- Provide a safe work place, ensuring adequate and appropriate clinic supplies/equipment
- Ability to utilise specific patient data bases
- Working as a team with nurses, doctors, allied health staff and clerks to ensure efficient clinic functioning and optimal patient outcomes
You will need to be self motivated, with excellent communication and organisational skills with flexibility and a commitment to professional development.
