The Royal Melbourne Operating Suite is seeking an experienced and motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurses interested in joining our professional and dynamic Perioperative and Peri anaesthetic Nursing team.

 

PACU nurses at The Royal Melbourne Hospital support a busy 14 theatre operating suite, recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.

 

This is a varied role that requires a switched-on nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working in a major metropolitan operating suite and is willing to work hard to provide excellent nursing care.

 

The role involves the provision of anaesthetic assistance to patients undergoing all types of major surgery and the post-operative recovery of patients.

 

The successful applicant must have:

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
  • A minimum of 8 months experience in Peri-Anaesthetic and/or Recovery Nursing
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated high clinical standards in patient assessment.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good technical proficiency and familiarity with a range of hemodynamic monitoring platforms
  • Willingness to actively and positively contribute to a high functioning multidisciplinary Perioperative nursing team
