Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN Gr3) 

Aged Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment Team (APATT)

 

  • Multiple positions - Full-Time and Part Time  working Monday-Friday
  • Based at Royal Park Campus in Parkville

This is an excellent opportunity for RPNs to further develop their skills and progress their career in a meaningful, dynamic and collaborative workplace

 

Our team:

  • We are a multidisciplinary team who strive to provide the highest quality mental health care to the people we work with, their families and significant others
  • We work primarily with adults over the age of 65 years, providing them with support along their recovery journey
  • As an RPN you will play an integral role in our team, receiving support, respect and encouragement throughout.

Your new role:

  • Engage in new assessments and regular reviews with consumers
  • Manage a caseload of consumers with complex and severe mental health related needs
  • Provide excellent care guided by recovery and biopsychosocial models
  • Participate in duty roster - managing in-coming community referrals and inpatient bed requests
  • Prioritize and attend to crisis as required
  • Communicate with consumers, families and significant others to help link them with external organisations

About You:

  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health needs for older adults (primarily 65years +)
  • Ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills withe capacity to work both autonomously and in larger team environment
  • Previous experience working as a mental health clinician in either a community or inpatient setting
  • Proven ability to undertake a range of biopsychosocial interventions with consumers
  • Passionate about consumer care
