The Connecting Care Program and Parkville Electronic Medical Record (EMR) 

The Connecting Care EMR Program is a digital partnership between Melbourne Health (MH), The Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) to transform patient care and research in the Parkville precinct.

 

Connecting Care will expand the cutting-edge RCH Epic EMR to operate across the four health services, creating one powerful shared clinical and research system and setting a new benchmark for EMR technology in Australia.

 

The Opportunity:

As the Connecting Care EMR Lead for Billing you will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing and implementation of EMR billing and charge capture functions and deliverables supported by the EMR at RCH, Melbourne Health, the Royal Women’s and Peter Mac.


You will work collaboratively with the RCH and Parkville EMR team, the EMR vendor and the health services to review existing billing workflows, content and configuration.  Your will be required to work with clinical and operational management/departments from all Parkville sites to:

  • understand current state billing requirements, processes and systems;
  • design, configure, test and implement future state workflows to capture the information required for billing within the EMR; and
  • co-ordinate the design, development, configuration, testing and implementation of the transfer of billing information from the EMR to local billing systems using interfaces, data extracts or other agreed mechanisms

 

You will provide leadership, expert advice and oversight of all billing and charge capture workflows and configuration to all EMR application teams.

 

About You: 

This is a senior position and would suit a candidate with

  • A tertiary degree;
  • A minimum of 5 years of EMR, eHealth or hospital management experience;
  • Experience in the implementation of an EMR, billing or eHealth system;
  • Experience in leading a team.

 

 The successful applicant will have: 

  • 2+ years successful experience in implementing or providing support for an EMR or healthcare billing application; 
  • Experience and knowledge of billing/charging processes, procedures and workflows within hospitals;
  • Experience in managing complex work environments and conflicting stakeholder interests;
  • Proven leadership capabilities and strong stakeholder management skills with particular emphasis on influencing, negotiating and gaining consensus;
  • Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines;
  • Highly developed analytical and innovative problem solving skills;
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and apply knowledge across different contexts;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office products and other project software e.g. Jira or Service Now.
