North West Mental Health – The Royal Melbourne Hospital

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individual to join our NorthWestern Mental Health team. This is a full time fixed term position for 12 months with a monthly ADO. The Occupational Therapy Advisor provides professional leadership and support to Occupational Therapists within NWMH to ensure that the Occupational Therapy services and all NWMH programs are consistent with professional, network standards and legislative requirements to enhance individual, family and community well-being and community and social participation.

Staff employed within the IWAMHS are expected to identify EB practice competencies and to use these in their clinical work.

 

About you:

  • Proven ability to provide professional leadership, and to initiate, develop and evaluate clinical occupational therapy services in a public mental health setting
  • Substantial experience in management and/or supervision of professional staff, including the provision of occupational therapy supervision and training.
  • Registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • An approved Degree from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or other qualifications approved for eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy
  • Provide education and support focusing on retention of entry-level occupational therapists
