Melbourne Health (MH), The Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH) and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) have commenced the Connecting Care program to implement a shared Electronic Medical Record (EMR).  The Connecting Care program will see the expansion of the successful Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Epic EMR to operate across the four health services.

 

The Connecting Care program will transform patient care and research in Parkville by creating one powerful clinical and research system for the Parkville health services.  The Connecting Care program will begin in July this year and finish in 2020, with the delivery of a comprehensive EMR system for the Parkville precinct.

 

A Connecting Care program team has been established consisting of dedicated clinical and technical staff who are responsible for the EMR system build and preparing each of the Parkville Health Services staff and patients for the change.  In collaboration with the RCH EMR team, the Connecting Care Program team will together co-ordinate and deliver this program of work for all of the Parkville Health Services. 

 

The Opportunity:


We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Clinical Documentation Analyst to join the Connecting Care program team, full time, fixed term position for two years.

 

As the Connecting Care Clinical Documentation Analyst, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, build, configuration, testing and implementation of the Clinical Documentation functionality for the EMR at Melbourne Health, the Royal Women’s and Peter Mac. Clinical Documentation encompasses inpatient nursing, allied health and medical workflows and functionality.   

 

Essential requirements for the role:

 

This is an EMR Analyst position and the successful applicant will have:

  • Experience working in a tertiary hospital environment is highly desirable;
  • All clinical professionals must meet credentialing requirements;
  • Experience working with EMRs and/or Healthcare/eHealth applications will be highly regarded;
  • Highly developed analytical and innovative problem solving skills;
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills;
  • Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues in a team based environment with individual and shared deliverables;
  • A good operational knowledge of a hospital department or area including relevant policies and procedures;
  • A tertiary degree is highly desirable.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory police records check and a Working With Children Check.  Successful applicants will also be required to provide a Record of Immune Status or evidence of an immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
