Melbourne Health have two Intern positions available to applicants who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

This position is part of the PMCV's computer Match process, and the interview process will be the same as all other Intern positions. For further information on the PMCV Computer Match process please visit www.thepmcv.com.au.


Melbourne Health Internship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have registered for the PMCV Intern match 
  • Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
    • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
    • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
    • Be accepted by community  as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

All eligible applicants will be offered an interview.

Although there is no minimum Z score to apply, general aptitude will be taken into consideration in the final selection process.


For those medical students who are also priority group 1 applicants, you only need to apply for one Intern position with Melbourne Health. However, when submitting your preferences to PMCV please ensure you rank both positions, listing the priority group 1 above the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identifiedposition in your rank order.

It is a condition of application that you discuss internship at RMH with one of the following Indigenous doctors who are a part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Working Group and also mentors for junior staff;

All new appointments to Melbourne Health must complete a National Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children Check and meet the immunisation requirements of their role at their own cost prior to commencement.
