Laboratory Assistant, Grade 2 (IV8), Full Time Fixed Term

A full time fixed term Laboratory Assistant (Grade 2 -  IV8) is available within Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL) located at The Doherty Institute in Melbourne.

About the position:

The successful candidate will support the scientists in VIDRL by providing a range of laboratory services including:

- Removal of glassware and decontamination of infected laboratory material, glassware and other apparatus

- Maintenance of supplies of sterilized equipment (glassware and laboratory equipment)

- Sterilisation of reagents for use throughout the Institute

- Operation of large autoclaves for decontamination and sterilisation purposes

In addition the successful candidate will work as part of a team with the University of Melbourne to provide similar support services to the research units. You will have good communication skills, work effectively as part of a larger team and have excellent time management skills.
