Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL)

Medical Scientist, Grade 1, Part time medical scientist

Serology laboratory, VIDRL, at the Doherty Institute.

Previous experience an advantage.

 

About the position:

A vacancy exists for a part time (0.8) fixed term medical laboratory scientist in the Serology department at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL) Melbourne Health at the Doherty Institute.

 

The serology department is responsible for the diagnosis of a wide range of infectious diseases. Experience in a range of serological techniques such as EIA, CLIA, and agglutination assays and experience operating automated equipment such as: Liaison XL, Siemens BEP and Triturus would be advantageous.

 

About you:

Applicants for the position should have a minimum of BSc or laboratory Science degree or equivalent. Previous experience in serological assays would be an advantage. Candidates should be able to work under supervision and must be able to work effectively in a team. The successful candidate should also be well organised, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills.
