The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Nursing Education team. This is a Part Time position, working 64 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne City Campus.


Your Opportunity:

  • Responsibility for implementing the Melbourne Health nursing education strategy at the ward/unit level, providing a clinical teaching framework and plan that is effective, efficient and sustainable.
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate appropriate clinically orientated education and teach in a variety of settings, and will be skilled in the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of clinical nursing educational programs.
  • Facilitation of the effective provision of in-service education, graduate program and graduate certificate program and continuing education programs, for all nurses at the ward/unit level.


About You:

  • Registered nurse with Cardiothoracic (or relevant specialty) postgraduate qualifications.
  • Professional role model with extensive acute nursing experience
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct and behaviour
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Postgraduate education qualification, a Cert IV in training or completion of preceptorship program is highly desired.
