RMH (NWMH) 2022 Graduate Mental Health Nurse Program

  • 12 month program commencing Jan 31st 2022
  • 2 x 6 clinical rotations - within a variety of settings

RMH (NorthWestern Mental Health) is the largest providers of Mental Health Services in Victoria.  Our multidisciplinary workforce provides a recovery-oriented approach to care. RMH (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A workforce of 1,700 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (Inner West, Mid West, North West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health.

Your Contribution

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in 2022 as an RN
  • Awareness of mental health nursing practice
  • Able to develop skills in risk assessment, mental state assessment, and care planning
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
  • A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development
  • Understand the professional, ethical, legal responsibilities of Registered Nurses
  • Understand the importance of compassionate nursing care which focuses on the best possible patient outcomes
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
