Your opportunity:

An opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to join our team on Ward 5 North. We are seeking team oriented and experienced nurse to join our multidisciplinary setting and be a part of a brilliant team culture who have a genuine passion for clinical excellence and optimum patient care.

About us:

5 North is a 20 bed ward caring for the diverse specialities of gastroenterology & haematology and acute geriatric orthopaedics.  This diverse group of patients requires the nursing staff to have a broad range of clinical and non-clinical skills to effectively care for these patients.   This includes a high level of clinical expertise in general nursing skills along with specialist skills in recognizing the deteriorating patient as the complexity of gastroenterology / haematology patients often results in sudden clinical deterioration. The acute geriatric orthopaedic patient (those over 65 with a fragility fracture of the femur) cohort needs specific skills in the management of medical co-morbidities as well as their fracture management.  Both of these cohorts require the nursing, allied health, pharmacy & medical teams to work together as cohesive unit to ensure best care for the patients.

About you:

  • Experienced nurse who has a talent for complex care and able to deal with competing priorities
  • Enthusiastic about delivering great care, confident in your skills and wanting to learn new skills
  • Flex your full remit of acute care skills - blood transfusions, complex medication infusions, pre and post-operative care, alcohol withdrawal, delirium management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, CVAD skills, gastrostomy tube management, chronic bowel diseases, liver diseases and generally the care of the acutely unwell patient

Our Commitment to you:

  • Career progression opportunities to suit your professional development goals.
  • We have a commitment to training, education and CPD activities are fully supported.
  • You will enjoy excellent work-life balance. We want you to stay long term!
  • Work alongside highly trained staff whilst providing compassionate and supportive care for all members of the community.

The RMH is proud to be a workplace that champions diversity, inclusion and equality for our staff and our community.  Our goal is for our people to feel safe, included and supported so that they can be at their best every single day. We encourage talented people from all backgrounds, abilities and identities to apply to our vacancies, and will consider adjustments to support such applications.
