The Royal Melbourne Operating Suite is seeking an experienced and motivated grade 2 nurses interested in joining our professional and dynamic Perioperative and Peri anaesthetic Nursing team.


RMH PACU Nurses support a busy 14 theatre operating suite, recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.


This is a varied role that requires a switched-on nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working in a major metropolitan operating suite and is willing to work hard to provide excellent nursing care.


The role involves the provision of anaesthetic assistance to patients undergoing all types of major surgery and the post operative recovery of patients.

 

The successful applicant will need to have:

  • A minimum of 8 months experience in Peri-Anaesthetic and/or Recovery Nursing.
  • Demonstrated high clinical standards in patient assessment.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations.
  • Registered Nurse Division 1 with current Australian practicing certificate.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good technical proficiency and familiarity with a range of hemodynamic monitoring platforms.
  • Willingness to actively and positively contribute to a high functioning multidisciplinary Perioperative nursing team.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing is highly desirable
