We provide comprehensive acute, sub-acute, general, specialist medical and mental health services through both inpatient and community based facilities through the following services: The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus, The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Royal Park Campus, NorthWestern Mental Health, RMH Kidney Care Service and Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. The Guidance Group is a part of Melbourne Health. We are located at the Peter Doherty Institute situated in the Parkville Precinct which brings together many of the essential groups in the scientific community with an interest in Antimicrobial Resistance including the infection and immunology communities from University of Melbourne and Melbourne Health. Applicants are sought for the role of experienced Software Developer for the Guidance Group. This is currently a 12 month fixed term position with the possibility of extension. You will have the opportunity to participate in a multidisciplinary team in the ongoing development of new software applications, native app development and existing software modules maintenance etc. You will be accounted as a software developer assisting the team to set a strong technological path working along with other developers. It is a rewarding opportunity to work along with the actual end users of the software modules who are active members to the development. To be successful in this role, you will be able to plan and prioritise your workload effectively, whilst working to deadlines. Strong technical skills to work independently combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. You will also need to be able to work effectively as a member of a small team, ready to take responsibilities as it arises without hesitation. Essential experiences & skills set: - Tertiary qualified with minimum 4 years .NET development experience required, with significant experience developing web application development with web services, database interface and specifically latest versions of SQL Server. - Minimum 4 years of experience in .Net 4, MVC, HTML 5, C#, SQL server 2008 and considerable experience in SQL server 2010 and 2012. - Experience in Native app development for iOS and / or Android devices using Objective-C, Java or other tools is desirable. - Experience in Reporting services like Crystal Reporting Services and SQL reporting services is essential. - Strong Object Oriented programming skill and Database design methods and techniques. - Ability to identify and develop useable interfaces with consistent look and feel - Experience in developing web-based applications in a corporate environment, adhering to change management and source code control standards - Evidence of problem solving skills and lateral thinking. - Ability to multitask efficiently and readily as requirement arises - Demonstrated prioritisation, time-management, negotiation and project planning skills. - Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment - Attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence and lead others.
