A rare opportunity exists to join the multi-disciplinary innovative team at CEED with an exciting role in Victoria’s state-wide mental health service working to develop and improve the early detection and intervention in eating disorders and the service system planning and responses in treatment.
CEED’s role is to strengthen the system of care for eating disorders with particular focus on assisting the mental health system in the provision of and continued development of treatment and care for eating disorders clients and their families. Aiding the establishment of a continuum of care within and across state and federally funded systems is also included in this function. CEED advises on good practice in treating eating disorders across all age groups.
Projects funded by DHHS in 2015-16 and for 2017-19 have expanded CEED’s work into early detection and intervention and to work across all tiers of service.
The Eating Disorders Clinician/Eating Disorders Senior Clinician works as part of the CEED team in the following two areas:
CEED 2017-19 Project roles
Along with involvement in the ‘core’ CEED work outlined below, the EDC/EDSC has a specific role in the DHHS funded projects over 2017-19 which will be at least 50% of the role. The two projects are, 1. Strengthening the system of care (SSC), by across sector engagement and collaborations in specific regions (rural and metro) with AMHS leadership, aimed at the development and implementation of coordinated responses to eating disorders across all ages, diagnoses and stage of illness. 2. Operation EAT, (Early Action and Treatment) focusing on primary care services development of skills and knowledge in early identification of and intervention in disordered eating, body image concerns and eating disorders in primary care settings potentially within a particular community / specific region / health service system.
Both the SSC and Operation EAT work includes working in specific regions / health networks in Victoria, in conjunction with local leadership and designated local project workers.
CEED (‘core’) Services
In CEED's recurrently funded core work the Eating Disorders Clinician/Eating Disorders Senior Clinician works to ensure the systematic maintenance of knowledge and skills of mental health clinicians and associated services by providing case consultation, professional and workforce development, resource development, and service development.
This challenging and rewarding opportunity offers the right person a chance to make significant contributions to the ongoing success of a dynamic and progressive team and help us achieve our vision to be the first in care, research and learning.
If you're ready to join an award winning health care service and one of Victoria’s largest public health services, then it's time to apply.
