Your new team


An opportunity exists for a grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team at Royal Melbourne Hospital within the acute general medicine stream. This team provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have a variety of medical conditions.  This role is part time and will provide clinical assessment, intervention and discharge planning. The role is supported by a grade 3 full time general medicine stream leader, OT research leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.

 

The RMH OT acute general medicine team provides assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients with a variety of medical conditions. Services are provided from RMH city campus.

 

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Supervise and contribute to the education of junior occupational therapists and allied health assistants
  • Ensure excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning
  • Build relationships with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services and information
  • Demonstrate effective communication strategies within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate in the staff clinical supervision program
  • Participate and drive research  

Your Contribution

  • Recognised degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication
  • Emergency and safe working practices in the hospital
  • Time management and prioritisation skills
