Public in Private Outpatient Follow-up CNS 

  • Join the RMH team in an exciting project role
  • Fixed-term, part-time position (48 hours per fornight)
  • Based at Royal Melboure Hospital City Campus

The Public in Private Outpatient Clinical Nurse Specialist role is responsible for working with clinical and administrative teams to ensure each patient receives appropriate follow up care following planned surgery in an external private facility.


Your new role:

  • Management and oversight of post-op care following planned surgery for RMH patients.
  • Partnerning with patietns and their carers, private hospitals, Health Information Services and clinicians to ensure STEP care for RHM patients.
  • Ability to shape the role to improve workflows.


About the service:

The  Outpatient Department provides over 200,000 attendances per year in a large range of surgical, medical, allied health and nursing clinics.

  • Specialist Clinics form a critical part of the care delivery system within the organisation delivering health care via 3 modalities, Telehealth, Telephone and face to face appointments.
  • 5 clinical locations for appointments, with both nursing and administrative support for clinicians and patients, as well as a separate administration office.

About you:

  • You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style.
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development.
  • You have strong problem solving skills and good attention to detail.
  • You are an AHPRA registered Nurse with ward experience and are willing to work on a rotating roster, within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
