The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Project Office to work in conjunction with our small project team to lead the implementation of IT Network Infrastructure upgrades.  The role will focus on a range of North West Mental Health (NWMH) sites connected to the Melbourne Health Wide Area Network (WAN).  This is essential foundation work to support NWMH clinical programs in preparation for the Electronic Medical Record being implemented at Melbourne Health. This is a Full Time Fixed Term (24 months) role that will be based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital but will require site visits to the NWMH facilities across Northern and Western suburbs requiring the network uplift.

 

Your Opportunity:

 

The Project Manager will:  

  • Ensure that the project meets organisational expectations and realises the full benefits of the infrastructure upgrade towards improving clinician access to the EMR for optimal patient care delivery.
  • Act as a key link in the overall network uplift across Melbourne Health and will work closely with the Network Infrastructure project team that is presently working across RMH City and Royal Park Campuses. 
  • Have extensive involvement with the NWMH team; Melbourne Health IT Services; and other key stakeholders within Melbourne Health.
  • Manage the scoping of site bill of materials, contractor and site management coordination, planning and delivery of the network uplift to support the NWMH clinical workflow at each of the NWMH sites within scope of the MH EMR. 
  • Be a key member of the Project Office and report to the Project Director responsible for the overall network uplift across Melbourne Health and closely liaise with NWMH teams to coordinate the implementation schedule and report on progress.

About You:

  • A Project Manager with a proven track record of project delivery
  • Competent technical experience in IT network infrastructure projects
  • An excellent communicator and influencer with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholders and provide high level advice and support
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation skills
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal to ensure clear understanding of project activities for both technical and clinical groups.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate project information to stakeholder groups
  • Have developed business analysis skills
