A full time vacancy exists for a qualified psychiatrist or a recently graduated psychiatrist.

The Psychiatrist is a key clinical position within the Mid West AMHS.  The role of the Psychiatrist is to provide clinical leadership within allocated clinical program(s) and operate in partnership with the Manager of the clinical program.

Appointees would be required to provide high standards of clinical care and appropriate supervision of trainees and medical officers.  Participation in the after hours senior roster is expected.

Qualifications:

• Registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Practitioners Board of AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all aspects of general adult psychiatry.
• Be able to demonstrate leadership skills and experience.
• Be able to demonstrate skills in interdisciplinary working and the development of effective working relationships with consumers and carers.

Salary:

• As per the Australian Medical Association and Melbourne Health Specialists Agreement.
