Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL).

Medical Scientist, Virus Identification Laboratory.

Part Time, Fixed Term.

 

A part-time (0.4 EFT) position is available for a recently qualified scientist (B.Sc, B.App Sci or equivalent) in the above laboratory.  The vacancy is within the Virus identification laboratory within VIDRL located at the Doherty Institute. The position involves the handling and processing of infectious material in a diagnostic setting to detect a large range of viruses of clinical importance to humans.  Molecular skills such as nucleic acid extraction and PCR would be highly regarded.  In this role, excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills are essential.
