Ward Clerk/Administration Assistant - Northern Psychiatric Unit

The Northern Psychiatric unit is part of the Northern Area Mental Health Service within North Western Mental Health. We provide a range of acute, continuing care and recovery focussed rehabilitation services relating to psychiatric assessment and treatment of severe psychiatric disorder. While the work we do takes us in inspiring new directions; caring for each other, our patients and consumers is as essential to who we are, as any scientific breakthrough we make.

 

Your new role:

  • Support the day to day administration and running of the Northern Psychiatric Unit.
  • Ensuring timely completion of statistical data of admissions and discharges
  • Completion of paperwork required under the Mental Health Act
  • Work collaboratively with other current ward clerks and alongside a multidisciplinary team
  • Be an effective communicator.
  • Accept accountability to ensure that all clinical information is documented and stored in compliance with the Victorian Health Records Act 2001.

 About You:

  • Previous experience in medical administrative roles and an understanding of the Mental Health Act
  • Proficient computer skills and excellent time management skills
  • Well developed and demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
