The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Hospital In The Home team. This is a Part Time Fixed Term position, working 64 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Park Campus.

Your Opportunity:

Hospital In the Home (HITH) provides staff the unique opportunity to practice independently whilst having dedicated medical team who also visit our patients in their home.

The HITH unit services an [approximate] 40km radius of the hospital, (predominately in the northern and western region). We are a 7 day a week service with staff working morning and evening shifts and an on call overnight service. Hospital in the Home treats a wide range of conditions requiring IV antibiotics, as well as anti-coagulation therapy, preconditioning chemotherapy, and negative pressure dressings.

You will work alongside the HITH Manager, medical team, Clinical Coordinator and the Clinical Development Nurse to facilitate outcome focused models of health care for patients and carers in accordance with principles of evidence based practice. Your interactions with patients, relatives and colleagues are guided by the organisational values of Respect, Caring, Unity, Discovery & Integrity. You will be responsible for managing your own working day.

About You:

  • Current APRHA Registration
  • Current Victorian driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent clinical skills - at least 3 years recent acute care experience
  • Advanced negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated autonomous practice with efficient time management skills

No HITH or community experience required.
