The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Perioperative Services Nursing Education team. There are on going and Fixed Term positions available, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital – City Campus.


Our Perioperative team have trialled and evaluated a new model in providing clinical education support across peri anaesthetic, recovery, scrub scout and day surgery units. This model allows for our educators to provide expertise within their chosen speciality, and work collaboratively across the departments supporting education and development.

Working in conjunction with the RMH Education Management team, Clinical Educators, Nurse Unit Managers and the clinical staff, you will excel in facilitating, coordinating and evaluating education across the clinical environment.

  • Provides high quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Contributes to and collaborates in the development of all staff including new and casual staff to the area
  • Provides junior staff, graduates and students with appropriate supervision, training and instruction in accordance with Melbourne Health policy and procedures

About You:

  • Registered Nurse, with Post Graduate qualification in speciality or Education 
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, development and innovation
