The Royal Melbourne Hospital/ NorthWestern Mental Health has an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian Clinician to join the State-wide Eating Disorder Service. Be a part of the Eating Disorder Unit multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of both inpatient and outpatient clinical care to consumers within the Eating Disorder Unit. You will be required to work independently to facilitate both individual and group education and interventions. You will also work collaboratively with and provide leadership and support to Area Mental Health Services, to support the transition between inpatient and outpatient care. This position will maintain professional standards in accordance with Melbourne Health Policies and Procedures and values and also the Dietitians’ Association of Australia.

 

About us:

 

The Eating Disorder Service based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of three specialist tertiary care services. The Eating Disorders Unit provides expert multidisciplinary care to consumers from Western Metropolitan Melbourne and the Western part of Victoria.

 

  • Co-located with the Neuropsychiatry Unit the Eating Disorders Service provides expert multidisciplinary care to consumers from across Victoria  
  • This role will support the Grade 3 Dietician with providing a comprehensive outpatient service, including 1:1 and group work
  • It will support the provision of care on the inpatient Unit.
  • The Eating Disorders service has a catchment that includes the Western Metropolitan area as well as the Western half of regional Victoria.
  • Staff are caring, cohesive and a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, which value the specific contributions of all clinical staff. 
  • This position offers rich opportunities to develop your career as a Dietician specialising in the field of Eating Disorders.

  • Provide quality consumer-focused intervention within the hospital & outpatient setting
  • Individual work with capacity to build a small group program;
  • Provide evidence based interventions
  • Contribute to positive patient outcomes
  • Develop and deliver a high level of clinical standards
  • Participate in quality activities and service development

Selection Criteria Essential: 1. Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience across a range of acute clinical areas 2. Demonstrated level of knowledge, skills and experience in working with consumers with an eating disorder diagnosis
Desirable: 1. Demonstrated experience in a specialist eating disorders service
