Manager Access and Patient Flow

Join the Royal Melbourne Hospital Access Team as a leader of the Access and Patient Flow team and the new Digital Coordination Centre. You will be pivotal in facilitating effective patient flow to support Safe Timely Effective Person-Centred care, and will be supported to achieve your career goals.   

 

Your new role


Reporting to the Director Access and Patient Flow, this position supports the optimal utilisation of beds, bed resources and bed substitution services aiming to provide a first-class patient experience and the achievement of key performance indicators and activity targets.


The Manager Access and Patient Flow provides leadership in the coordination of patient access for emergency and planned admissions to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This position is directly responsible for the processes and structures responsible for managing daily access and works collaboratively with the Digital Coordination Centre to support safe, timely and efficient patient care.

 

About you:

  • You are senior Registered Nurse with significant experience in management of demand and access to health service.
  • You are highly motivated and resourceful individual with well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • You demonstrate strong operational management capability and track record of engaging, motivating and developing employees through effective leadership, communication, consultation, and development.
  • You bring a demonstrated understanding of the emergency access policy framework that exists around access.
