Advertisement text - 7 West Day Medical unit, The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Melbourne Health - Full-time (80hrs) per fortnight and part-time hours available in an ongoing capacity made up of 8 or 10 hour shifts. About the role: The Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Day Medical Unit is seeking skilled and motivated Division 1 Registered Nurse’s to join our developing team. The unit provides specialist care for patients receiving a range of specialist infusions such as biologic agents and blood products, and also a range of minor medical procedures. The Day Medical unit is moving through an exciting stage of its development that will see continued growth & expansion!on the range of services we can offer patients as a specialized service providing excellent care. Previous day medical or day oncology experience and high level clinical nursing skills would be an advantage working in this expanding service. Successful applicants will be able to: - Work as part of a team with members of the unit, medical staff and clinical nurse consultants - Demonstrate and ability to ensure optimal outcomes for patients of the unit through the promotion of evidence based practice. - Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients and their families. - Demonstrate a commitment to professional development. - Provide safe and effective patient-centered nursing care. 7 West is open Monday to Friday and is closed on weekends and public holidays. Essential Requirements: - Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing And Midwifery Board of Australia - Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team - Demonstrated ability to manage a team - Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care - Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills - High motivation and willingness to learn - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - High level of reliability and professional conduct Desirable: - IV cannulation competency - Chemotherapy competency - Experience working in a Day Medical or ambulatory setting - Endoscopy or Peri operative experience Why Melbourne Health?
