NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health.
North West AMHS (NWAMHS) provides a comprehensive range of psychiatric services to adults aged between 16-65 who reside in the local government areas of Moreland and Hume.
A Job to Be Proud Of:
The Senior Psychologist will work to be an integral part of the multidisciplinary BIPU team. The senior psychologist will provide specialist psychological assessments and where appropriate, brief interventions to inpatient consumers including CBT and DBT.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers and community partners
- Provide guidance on outpatient treatment for patients discharged from BIPU for community clinicians inside and outside of NWAMHS
- Engagement in the Inpatient activity program, consultation to the clinical team, and liaison and consultation to other agencies and service providers where appropriate
Your Contribution:
- Registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009)
- Endorsement as a clinical psychologist or eligibility to enter a registrar program as a clinical psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Endorsement as a supervisor for clinical psychology registrars and other psychologists with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Experience in the delivery of a range of specialist psychotherapeutic interventions to people with severe psychiatric illnesses and their families
- Ability to provide focused and brief psychological interventions to
