The Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program provides information, support and specialist mental health services to older people aged 65+ years. The APMH service is committed to working with consumers during their recovery by offering holistic and evidence based (EB) treatment, which is inclusive of family/carers and provided by clinicians with well-developed skills.

- Display an interest in working in aged psychiatry
- Provide expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of psychiatric disorders in both inpatient and community settings
- Develop and evaluate specific team programs, initiatives or research projects
- Carry out inclusive psychology assessments and formulate diagnosis based on assessment results
- Advise on the most appropriate psychological interventions or strategies for managing psychiatric / psychological problems identified on assessment
- Provide appropriate formal reports to referrer and relevant external bodies
Your Contribution
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychological and psychosocial assessments and interventions, individual and family counselling, group work, advocacy and community development and education
- Well-developed and effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholder sand service providers
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A valid Victorian driver’s license and a willingness to travel between multiple sites.
