The Royal Melbourne Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy and Dementia Research Program offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. The Department is heavily dedicated to clinically relevant research. Currently active projects cover a wide range of research areas related to epilepsy, dementia, neuropsychiatry & neuropharmacology, including basic laboratory work with animal models of epilepsy, neuro imaging with MRI, PET and SPECT, genetics, clinical outcome and quality of life and epidemiological studies.


The position primarily involves performing assessments on participants at regular, scheduled appointments and compiling required reports.  These assessments may include: physical and neurological examinations, blood/urine sampling, ECG, vital signs, adverse event reporting and concomitant medications review.


The role also involves liaising with the Melbourne Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) on a regular basis, providing updated trial information and becoming familiar with the research submissions for new projects and amendments of existing projects.
