  • Part Time, 0.8 FTE position - 64 hours per fortnight

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Mental Health Nurse (RPN3) to join our multidisciplinary Northern SECU Diversion team.

 

The Northern SECU Diversion service provides intensive psychosocial recovery focused on an assertive outreach basis to consumers who have a serious mental illness, a consistent pattern of problematic engagement and/or significant treatment resistance.


The service works collaboratively with the consumer's clinical treating team, delivering social, occupational, psychological, psychoeducational, family and community recovery focused interventions. The overarching goal of SECU Diversion is to improve treatment engagement, care and social participation of consumers with challenging and complex mental health presentations.

  • Undertake assessments of consumers and contribute to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment and recovery objectives, maximizing participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team and the consumer’s treating team, to achieve the desired client outcomes
  • Provide specialist consultations, assessments, appropriate evidenced based interventions and intensive support to assist in better outcomes for clients and families/carers
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of Wellbeing and Recovery Plans
  • Provide clinical expertise in assessment, risk management and decision making in the delivery of treatment and interventions to clients, maximizing participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning
  • Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of any programs in response to identified needs
  • Liaise and work collaboratively alongside IPU, ED, EMH, CL, PACER, CCU, PARC and Community Teams

Work collaboratively with Non-Government organisations, GP’s, private psychiatrists and others in the provision of quality care for clients and their families/carers.

 

Your Contribution: 

  • Extensive experience, skill and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of mental illness and psychiatric disability 
  • Extensive skills and knowledge in the provision of recovery focused interventions, psycho-social recovery oriented rehabilitation to people with significant mental illnesses and complex needs 
  • Experience in the development of strong collaborative relationships and linkages
