Health Assistant in Nursing - Emergency Department

  • Permanent Part Time position – 24 hours per fortnight
  • Central Parkville location

HANs are valued members of the healthcare team and work under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager, Registered Nurses and/or Endorsed Enrolled Nurses to provide Safe, Timely, Effective and Person-centred care to our patients and their families.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Health Assistant in Nursing to join our vibrant Emergency Department team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your new role:

  • Participate in patient centred care, ensuring the personal needs of our patients are met.
  • Assist with transfers, ambulation and visual observation.
  • Support with other patient related services including equipment and stock maintenance.
  • This role is included in our rotating 12-hour shift roster and includes night shifts and weekends, 7 days per week.

About you:

  • You have completed a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
  • You have previous experience in the healthcare setting.
  • You are organised and work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • You are committed to providing great patient centred care.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check, and where applicable, Working With Children Check (WWCC).
