The MRI department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital has a position currently available for a permanent Grade 2 Full time MRI Radiographer.


The MRI service is spread over both The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital Private Imaging and performs approximately 25k examinations per annum. Imaging at RMH in this modality is extensive. It incorporates many specialized areas tailored to meet the needs of our public and private referral base.


About You:

The successful applicant will ideally have a minimum of 1 years’ experience MRI experience with a proven record of producing high quality images across a full range of body regions. A high level of self motivation and autonomy for continuing MRI education is required, together with a caring and respectful attitude toward patients. Completion of or a willingness to undertake ASMIRT level 1 Accreditation is required.


A thorough understanding of MRI physics, MRI safety and MR imaging techniques is necessary and additional post graduate education in MRI will be viewed favorably.


The Role:

In this role, you will be rewarded with the opportunity to work in an inclusive multidisciplinary team where you will perform a full range of advanced clinical MRI examinations – Neuro, MSK, abdominal, breast, pelvis, prostate, and MRI guided intervention.


This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills through involvement in the many research activities performed at the Royal Melbourne hospital - incorporating multi-nuclear imaging, fMRI and other emerging sequences and technologies.


As part of the MRI team you will be rostered on both day and evening shifts during the week and will participate in weekend work (both rostered and overtime) as well as on-call work as required.
