Fixed term Locum position to November 2019

Director of the VICNISS Coordinating Centre for Surveillance of Healthcare associated Infections

 

This is a 12 month (approximately) locum position, to provide leadership as the Director of the VICNISS Coordinating Centre, located at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team in the management and administration of the Victorian state-wide program for surveillance of healthcare-associated infections. This will be a time of expansion of the program, to cover all private hospitals within Victoria, and addressing new initiatives including multi-resistant organism surveillance, expanded aged care surveillance and potentially other new roles for the centre. Duties include leadership of staff, contribution to, and development, of educational and research initiatives, communication with key internal and external stakeholders, and budgetary supervision. The applicant will have a medical qualification and post graduate qualification in Infectious Disease, expertise in surveillance methods and infection prevention, and excellent leadership and communication skills.
