- Demonstrate knowledge of legislation governing mental health nursing practice in Victoria.
- Deliver holistic, recovery focussed care to consumers, carers, and families.
- Contribute to maintenance of a safe environment for consumers and others attending the unit.
- Deliver high standards of consumer care, which is not limited to mental health and will holistically include the consumers spiritual, cultural and physical health needs.
- Demonstrate and contribute to medication safety, including safe medication administration.
- Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team, including clinical handover, advocacy for consumers, attending ward round as a nursing representative, and driving high standards of care.
- Completion of admissions and discharges as per ward processes.
Your Contribution:
- Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in the mental health setting.
- Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- Function in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice.
- Possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to practise collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.
