The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities.  We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

 

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Specialist Clinics Administration team in a Part Time position, working 72 hours per fortnight based at RMH City Campus.

 

Your Opportunity: 

  • Work within a team to manage the journey of a patient from referral through to appointment
  • Assist patients with enquiries about their appointments via phone, email and in-person
  • Greet patients and monitor the waiting room to identify patients requiring assistance to nursing staff
  • Prepare documentation in readiness for the clinic 
  • Liaise with medical teams and provide reports on the status of their clinic Action bookings into clinic and cancellations, audit waitlists

About You: 

  • Demonstrated provision of highly developed customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including professional telephone manner
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including accurate keyboard skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • Professional presentation and demeanour
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritise and problem solve
  • Able to work in a busy environment and under pressure at times
  • Previous hospital experience desirable
  • Previous experience in data entry, customer service, call centre or clinic management also desirable
