Patient Service Assistant

  • Part Time – ongoing, 48 hours per fortnight

North Western Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne. A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid-West, Inner West and Northern), an Aged Persons’ Mental Health Program and a Youth Mental Health Service – ORYGEN Youth Health. NWMH is a clinical service of Melbourne Health and operates in partnership with Northern Health and Western Health.


A Job To Be Proud Of:

Merv Irvine Nursing Home is looking for someone who is enthusiastic and a good communicator to work with our team as a Patient Service Assistant. You will be working close with resident at the home and also the clinical team.


Your responsibility will be for Safe food handling during service of meals and preparation of snacks and cleaning kitchen and dining area. Laundry skills required for residents personal clothing and all aspects of cleaning to maintain Melbourne Health Cleaning Standards at all times.

 

Your Contribution:

  Essentials:

  • Food Handling Certificate level 1 or 2
  • High motivation and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct


Desirable:

  • Recent experience, aged care and/or residential care setting
  • Recent experience as a cleaner
  • Recent experience in a commercial kitchen/age care setting 
  • Knowledge and experience in working within a laundry environment.
