The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Diabetes Research team.

 

This is a Part Time Fixed Term position, working 48 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital - City Campus.

Your Opportunity:
 

 

The Research Nurse / Study Coordinator will be an integral team member within the Diabetes Research Unit.

  • Work on several diabetes and endocrine research projects \
  • Work closely with the Diabetes and Endocrinology team
  • Recruitment of clinical trial participants
  • Conducting trial participants study visits
  • Data entry, sample processing
  • Guided management of ethics submissions and reports

About You:

  • Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Previous research experience or willingness to undertake appropriate education to meet the needs of the position
  • An understanding of good clinical practice guidelines (GCP) and current GCP certification or willingness to undertake appropriate education in this area
  • Ability to contribute effectively as a participative member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent patient management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently whilst maintaining a strong team approach
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Sound phlebotomy skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required
  • Previous diabetes education / management experience or willingness to undertake appropriate education to enhance knowledge level
