About Us:
The Aged Psychiatry Assessment and Treatment Team (APATT) assess the needs, and identify appropriate treatment and therapeutic options, for older adults presenting mental health issues. Join our team and take up a new challenge whilst adding to your skills base and contributing to a positive experience for consumers of the service.
About the Role:
- Provide assessment, treatment and discharge planning for people over 65 years of age, with mental health issues.
- Supply brief interventions as well as medium to long term, depending on the identified needs of the person.
- Administer different modalities of treatment, depending on the identified needs of the person.
- Contribute your clinical experience to psychosocial assessment, group work, family work and community development.
- Work in consultation and collaboration with the consumer, their family and the multidisciplinary team as well as other relevant stakeholders
About You:
- A minimum of two years’ work experience in mental health settings
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a comprehensive mental health biopsychosocial assessment
- Capability to undertake a range of interventions, including but not limited to, anxiety management, supportive psychotherapy, family work, group work, community liaison
- Excellent working knowledge of aged psychiatry and therapeutic approaches
- Capacity to prioritise risk and attend to crises appropriately
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and excellent problem solving skills
