The Cancer Care Coordinator (CCC) is a vital member of the Head & Neck, Thyroid, and Skin/Melanoma tumour streams at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The CCC participates in the patient’s and carer’s wellbeing from the moment the patient presents to the clinic and continues through the time of surgery, and through to when the patient returns for any follow up clinic appointments.


The CCC is involved at each point of the patient’s treatment plan and is in constant communication with nursing, allied health, medical and surgical staff throughout the patient’s journey.

 

The CCC is an integral part of the Head & Neck, Thyroid and Skin/Melanoma Multidisciplinary teams and is the primary contact point within the 3 tumour streams for the patient, their families/carers as well as an essential resource for staff.


To be successful for this position you must demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of oncology care models for cancer services in Victoria
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the AHPRA
  • Intermediate IT skills, Microsoft office programs and report writing
  • Advanced assessment, problem solving, critical thinking and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise clinical workload to maximise the best patient outcomes
  • The ability to be flexible and to adapt in response to changing clinical demands
