About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time position within the North West Community Care Units. We are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Entry level Program who has a sound working knowledge of and commitment to the Recovery framework.
The North West Community Care Units provide 24 hour community based residential care to people who experience long term serious mental illness and disability within a Recovery framework. Residents require high levels of clinical support and intensive rehabilitation.
The successful applicant will have an understanding of the recovery framework and be able to provide OT and psychiatric assessment and treatment.
The OT will also work closely with the OT2 and allied health team along with nursing staff in facilitating and evaluating the group program, establish strong partnerships and support the leadership group in continuous improvement.
The successful applicant will be required to engage in clinical supervision and attend to the Entry level Program seminars.
The candidate should also have knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
There may be scope to work collaboratively with our Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) to support an integrated model of care and other community partners.
