Locum Breast Surgeon 

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Breast service. This is a fixed term / Part Time position for up to 6 months, covering the hours of a Senior Surgeon undergoing a transition to retirement, working 4 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus.

Your Opportunity:

• Provide clinical care to patients of the breast service on Tuesday afternoon outpatient
• Operate on breast patients on ad hoc operating lists as available to cover surgeon leave

• Contribute the multidisciplinary team meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays as available

• Provide oversight and teach to the Breast service Fellow, Registrars and Interns

• Work with other members of the Breast team including Breast Care Nurses, Liaison Nurses and Data manager.

About You:

• Medical registration in Australia
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons

• Full membership of Breast SurgANZ

• Higher degree is preferable

• Preference will be given to Breast surgeons with an ongoing appointment with one or more of the precinct partner health services
