An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time position within the North West Community Care Units. We are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist who has a sound working knowledge of and commitment to the Recovery framework coupled with knowledge and skills in delivering Vocational Rehabilitation both one to one and in a group work setting.

 

The North West Community Care Units provide 24 hour community based residential care to people who experience long term serious mental illness and disability. Residents require high levels of clinical support and intensive rehabilitation to achieve their goals, improve mental health and meet their daily living needs.

 

The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of the recovery framework and provide comprehensive mental health and OT specific assessments and treatment to residents at CCU, contribute to the development and evaluation of the group program, facilitate OT therapeutic groups and support the team in continuous improvement. The successful applicant will be required to engage in clinical supervision, contribute to in-service education sessions, program planning and evaluation, and have a sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. There will be scope to work collaboratively with our Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) to support an integrated group program.

Selection Criteria Essential: 1. Approved degree from a recognised School of Occupational Therapy and eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia.
Essential: 2. Current registration as Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
