We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Intensive Care Unit team. This is a full time permanent position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based within the Royal Melbourne Hospital Intensive Care Unit administration area. This position plays a vital role in the day to day running of ICU administration and supports key personnel with in our team.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Provide successful administrative and secretarial support to the designated committees and work groups of the ICU
- Perform clerical duties as required by the unit including collecting, sorting and distributing mail and memos, performing general filing, producing photocopies and sending faxes
- Direct general queries regarding RHM and ICU events for external and internal stakeholders
- Assist with the organisation of events such as education workshops, as required by senior ICU medical and nursing staff
- Prepare reports for use by senior medical and nursing staff
- Manage the booking of meeting rooms
About You (Essential Requirements):
- Previous experience as a Administrative Assistant in a busy medical department
- Ability to work under pressure and priorities the workload
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills – with demonstrated ability to take minutes and draft correspondence
- Possess sound analytical, critical thinking, judgment and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate ability to be innovative, resourceful and adaptive to change
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a team member
- High level of competence in the use of standard office software
